Hey there, wanted to give you a peak at what I’ve been working on…it’s a glimpse into an early scene of the True2Life movie. It’s really how we passed the parental consent law in Ohio! Let me know what you think!
INT. RESTAURANT - CONTINUOUS
Janet’s boyfriend MARC beaming with pride as he waits for Janet to join him and his parents for a celebration dinner.
MARC’S DAD
My son “the partner.” Congratulations.
MARC’S MOTHER:
I’m so proud of you! Where’s Janet? Shouldn’t she be here to celebrate your success?
MARC
(looking at his watch)
She’ll be here.
INT. STATEHOUSE CHAMBER — MOMENTS LATER
REP. JIM JORDAN
Madam Speaker, move to amend.
There is a hush among the House members. Jim is recognized.
REP. JIM JORDAN
I move that this bill be amended to include a requirement for parents to give their consent prior to the performance of an abortion on an unemancipated minor under the age of 18.
REP. JOAN RECUS
This “Parental Consent” amendment is absolutely outrageous. There hasn’t been a single hearing on this bill! And to suggest that a parent should have any say whatsoever over what their daughter does with her own body is a blatant violation of her rights!
REP JIM JORDAN
You’re against Parental Consent? You sponsored the bill requiring parents to consent before a child can get a tattoo. And now you’re against parental consent before they can have an abortion? Isn’t that just a little inconsistent?
Ron Hood looks up to Janet in the Balcony and looks for her signal.
REP. RON HOOD
(mouthing in an exaggerated fashion)
Nooowwww???
INT. STATEHOUSE BALCONY — CONTINUOUS
JANET
(mouthing back, nodding)
Nooowww.
INT. STATEHOUSE CHAMBER — CONTINUOUS
The colorful “Tattoo Flyers” listing 87/99 legislators who voted for Parental Consent before a minor could get a tattoo (each with a temporary tattoo attached) are handed out to all the House members.
The atmosphere moves from hostility to levity. Legislators look around to see what tattoo their colleagues got, while others roll up their sleeves to put theirs on. All look for their name to see how they voted.
INT. STATEHOUSE BALCONY — CONTINUOUS
Janet’s parents and staff look on in amazement. The vote is cast; and the board fills up with green “yes” votes. Janet’s phone vibrates, and she turns it off.
INT. RESTAURANT — CONTINUOUS
MARC:
(on cell phone)
Janet? I’m going to go ahead and order your favorite. Please hurry!
He looks apologetically at his parents.
MARC’S MOM
It’s not like this is the first time she’s done this to you. And now that it’s your big day, she’s nowhere to be found.
MARC
She’s got a very demanding job.
MARC’S MOM
More like a “cause.” She’s gonna need to shift her priorities if this thing is ever going to go anywhere.
MARC
(looking for support)
Dad?
MARC’S DAD
Don’t look at me; I’ve got my own “cause.”
(Motioning to his wife with his eyes)
But I will say, because you asked, since you won’t be spending those long hours at the office trying to make partner, you might want someone who has some time for you.

Welcome to my blog!
June 17th, 2010 by rossLet me start by thanking all those who have prayed for and supported Faith2Action. You have helped make possible many of the things we have done together over the years, including the Presidential debate in 2007, the How to Take Back America conference last fall, and the Israel Friendship Project this spring, in which 30,000 yellow roses were sent to encourage Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the people of Israel.
Thanks also to all those who have contributed through your time, prayer, and financial support to May Day. God was honored that day. We were blessed with a beautiful, warm day, safety in travel, and no major technical or security problems. All of these things were answers to prayer. There were also scores of people (that we know about) who humbly prayed for Jesus to become their Savior and Lord that day. Praise God! The overall attendance was in the thousands, and viewership in the millions, but whether it was enough to withhold God’s judgment and give our nation another chance remains to be seen. We obeyed God and stood in the gap, the results are up to Him.
While we are no longer airing our daily radio program, the good news is that the 60-second daily Faith2Action commentaries will be back up and running this month, thanks to our partners at the American Family Association. They have agreed to produce and air them on their American Family Radio (AFR) network at 1:15 p.m. Eastern (12:15 p.m. Central), along with the Bott Radio Network, and others.
We are also in pre-production of “True 2 Life the Movie.” It’s a true romantic comedy that includes my work in Ohio to pass the nation’s first ban on partial-birth abortion. You’ll hear more about that in upcoming entries!
Standing and working together to ensure our freedom to proclaim the Gospel and speak the truth is more important than ever before. Faith2Action has stood in the gap for America. Now, we need you to stand with us! Please make a much needed donation with the reply envelope provided, or if you’d like to donate by credit cared, you can do so at www.f2a.org or by calling my assistant, Kristin Saunders, at 502-4ACTION (502-422-8466). God bless you as you put your faith to action!
