"How do you teach about evolution and creation?" That's one of the questions thoughtful parents most frequently ask when visiting Christian colleges with their high-school students.
Some colleges give straightforward answers that might startle some Christians. The biology department of Calvin College in Michigan issued a statement on May 7: "We teach evolutionary theory as the best scientific explanation for the dynamic diversity of life on Earth. . . . We teach biology from an evolutionary paradigm."
Across the border in Ohio, Cedarville University has an equally forthright statement from the other end of the spectrum: "We believe in the literal six-day account of creation, that the creation of man lies in the special, immediate, and formative acts of God and not from previously existing forms of life."

Hurricane Earl is expected to be on or very close to the Outer Banks of North Carolina late tonight. The fast moving storm is expected to be close to Cape Cod Friday night and near Maine and Nova Scotia on Saturday. As of 2 PM ET Thursday, the Cat 3 hurricane was packing winds of 125 mph and moving north at 21 mph. Drudge Report has been describing it today with one word: Monster.
Hurricane warnings are in effect for coastal North Carolina and Massachusetts. A State of Emergeny has been declared by the governors of North Carolina, Maryland, and Virginia. Tropical storm warnings have been posted from the N.C./Virginia border to Sandy Hook, New Jersey, Long Island in New York, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
Please pray for all those who are in the path of this large hurricane!
