Some immigrant rights groups are joining the protest because of Emmer's stand against illegal immigration.  Be sure to let Target and Best Buy know where you stand stand about this!  Note of warning:  Target and Best Buy have both been very supportive of homosexuality in a number of other situations.

The Senate may be casting votes on these issues when they return from their summer recess in September:

(1) The DISCLOSE Act, which would require the names of all top donors to an organization to be revealed, regardless of whether they specifically supported or approved that ad.  (2) The Cap-and-Trade Energy Bill, which many are calling the "control-and-tax" bill.   (3) Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).  (4) Repeal of the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.  (5) The Internet "Kill Switch" bill.     Action steps on many of these items can be found below.

Call your Senators at 202-224-3121 and in their district offices on the Coast2Coast page for your state.    While it might seem efficient or less work to mention both things on the same call, it's really best to keep your conversation to one topic and make a second call about the other point.

Action Steps Suggested by Tom Pedigo - Posted May 27, 2010

Tom Pedigo with the National Association Against Christian Discrimination (NAACD) suggested the following on today's program:

  • Register to vote -- too many Christians and other conservatives have neglected their duty to vote
  • Get involved in schools -- run for the local school board
  • Run for your library board (school or community) -- but don't say anything about banning books
  • Get active in your community
  • Get on talk shows that air in your area
  • Write a letter to the editor (of a newspaper).

Regarding writing a letter to the editor, Tom suggests that you make it pointed, precise, and pithy.   Try to avoid emotions and any name-calling.   Be sure to use spell check and try to use proper grammar and sentence structure.   Think about doing this "in a sound bite" that quickly captures someone's attention.

Writing a Letter to the Editor - Posted May 26, 2010

As suggested on the F2A program that aired May 25, writing a letter to the editor of newspapers can be an effective way to get the word out on important issues. Right now, cap-and-trade energy tax, ENDA, and changes in military policy, are three subjects were more of these letters need to be written!

Here are a few tips for doing this most effectively:  1) Pay close attention to the requirements listed for letters in the newspaper or their website.   There will usually be a limit to the number of words that they will publish.  It's wise to follow this.  2) Stick to one subject as much as possible.   While you may want to put across several points, resist the urge and try your best to stay on subject.

Child Sex Abuse Cover Up - Posted March 8, 2010

Based on an undercover investigation, it appears that  an abortion clinic in Milwaukee operated by Planned Parenthood covers up child sex abuse. Footage shows clinic staff counseling a purportedly 14-year-old statutory rape victim not to tell anyone about her 31-year-old "boyfriend" and coaching her how to obtain an abortion without her parents' consent.
Wisconsin law requires immediate reporting of such sex between an adult and a minor to law enforcement.   They need to hear from us, encouraging action against Planned Parenthood.  Call Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen at 608-266-1221 and Milwaukee District Attorney John Chisholm at 414-278-4646.

Resolving to Share Your Faith - Updated June 7, 2010

A detailed list of fulfilled Messianic prophecies can be found here.

Some tips shared by evangelist Mark Cahill about the conversation (not presentation) that we should resolve to do many times in 2010:

Conversation starter:  "Does Christmas have any spiritual meaning to you?"  (could also use substitute the word Easter or Thanksgiving)
Another qood question to use: "Who do you think Jesus is?"

Any time you hear "works" as an answer (person is trusting in his/her own efforts for salvation), move to the law - and it can be done in a friendly way
Taking light to darkness - looking for where groups congregate (concerts, sports events, New Year's Eve, etc.)

Remember that the Biblical worldview has the answer to all the questions that are out there while other religions do not.
"Don't leave Jesus in the manger" or on the cross - it doesn't end there!
Get out there and practice - can't witness to two people until you've done one.

"Missing Heaven Unaware" is a DVD that Mark recommends and Answers in Genesis resources for questions on creation/evolution.

To learn more about sharing your faith, Mark's books One Thing You Can't Do in Heaven and One Heartbeat Away can be helpful - both are available at markcahill.org on a donation basis.  One Thing You Can't Do in Heaven has the basics about evangelism and One Heartbeat Away is full of apologetic material and is a good one to give to Jewish people to see Jesus as their Messiah.

Federal Fishing Restrictions and Changes to Clean Water Act - Posted November 13, 2009
As discussed on our program today, the federal government has imposed draconian, arbitrary timelines on when fishing can occur in the Gulf of Mexico.   Much of the commercial fishing there is for red snapper.  The only thing those who depend on fishing for their livelihood, (including charter boat owners) know is that the 2010 season will start on June 1.   It could end in as soon as two weeks or a month after that date.   These restrictions are having a devastating effect on families and on the economies of five states that line the Gulf Coast.    There are two current bills that would help to relax the current restrictions.  H.R. 1584 and S. 1255 need to be (1) amended to deal with the issue of overfishing and (2) passed as amended.

The federal government also wants to take control of all water in the United States, including every lake and pond, through revisions to the Clean Water Act.   The bill that would do this and needs to be opposed is S. 787, which is sponsored by Senator Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin)

Stop Forced Vaccinations in Massachusetts - Posted Sept. 2, 2009

A bill that has passed the State Senate in Massachusetts would require vaccination for the H1N1 (swine) flu virus.   Those who refuse would face arrest and fines.   Government officials could also force individuals into quarantine centers and confiscate property under the claim of contamination.    The bill has yet to be approved by the State House.  It is currently in the hands of Rep. Charles Murphy, who chairs the Ways & Means Committee.  Call Rep. Murphy at 617-722-2380 and tell him to kill S. 2024.

Forced Vaccinations for Swine Flu - Posted August 12, 2009

Is the World Health Organization (WHO) trying to unnecessarily blow up a global flu pandemic for purposes of profit and/or population reduction?   Will martial law be declared in the United States and other nations, with WHO and the UN calling the shots?  Is a totalitarian takeover of the U.S. coming where all those who resist are sent to concentration camps?   It seems far fetched, but consider the information presented by Jane Burgermeister, an investigative journalist from Austria, on the August 12th radio program.   Download it here.

Hopefully, there isn't any truth to where this research points.  But, we do well to be informed and openly resist any attempt to force immunization by a suspect, potentially fatal vaccine.  According to Jane, this can yet be stopped.  Here are links to things referenced during the program:

Energy Bill Awaits Senate Action - Updated August 21, 2009

The U.S. House approved the Waxman-Markey "cap and trade" energy tax bill in late June.   If approved, the average family can expect to pay $2,000 to $3,000 more per year in utility and gasoline costs.   It would indirectly be the largest tax increase in American history.  Millions of remaining manufacturing jobs could be lost to overseas competitors.  Despite the claims of global catastrophe regarding global warming, there is much evidence that the earth has actually been getting colder for over a decade.   Let your Senators know what you think at 202-224-3121.   The Senate is expected to work on its version of cap-and-trade in September after their summer recess concludes.

“Censorship Doctrine” -- Posted Feb. 12, 2009

If the recent statements of Senators TomHarkin (D-Iowa) and Debbie Stabenow (D-Michigan) are any indication, the push could be soon on to pass some form of “Fairness Doctrine.” If such a bill were signed into law, it could silence most Christian talk shows and commentaries because the stations that air them simply will not give airtime to abortionists or homosexual activists. (Any bills that have been considered so far would have no effect on network or cable TV news). The bill could be given a covert name that indicates “local control” or diversity in station ownership and programming. Let your Senators and Congressmen know that you oppose re-imposing any form of a fairness doctrine when you call them at 202-224-3121. Encourage conservative Senators to join together in filibustering any attempts to pass one.

Costs of Gambling -- Posted April 3, 2008

Here are some stats on gambling that may be helpful in battling against the introduction or expansion of casinos and lotteries in your area, as discussed by Tom Gray in the 2nd half of the program April 3

  • For every dollar of casino gambling revenue gained by a state, there are at least two dollars, if not three or four, in costs for that state (families that become wards of the state after losing their homes, pensions, etc.; need for more prisons and police)
  • In a 50-mile radius of new casinos, there is a marked increase in the amount of spousal abuse as indicated by those treated at hospitals in the area. The combination of alcohol and gambling fueled by the casinos doubles the trouble.
  • Approximately 51% of the revenue from a lottery comes from just 5% of the state’s population.State programs to help education or senior citizens are largely being funded by people with serious gambling addiction.
  • More money is spent in the USA on gambling than on groceries!

Call all of your elected officials – state legislators, Governor, Congressman, Senators, and the President about this.Let them know that you don’t want the Real ID Act, national ID cards, and that your state shouldn’t go along with any of this.Call the White House at 202-456-1414 and any member of Congress at 202-224-3121.The phone number for your Governor can be found on the Coast2Coast page for your state or in the blue pages of phone directories.

Check the website realnightmare.org, which shows the status of Real ID legislation in each state and where Presidential candidates stand on this issue.Freedomsphoenix.com has many news articles on the chips.NoNAIS.org has much on protecting traditional rights to farm and attorneys who can represent farmers who resist government mandates.

Dr. Albrecht has a daily program from 10 AM-Noon Eastern M-F on “We the People Radio Network” (wtpn.com) and Dr. Jerome Corsi is regularly posting articles on WorldNetDaily (wnd.com)

Florida is now implanting microchips in Alzheimers patients and England may soon be doing it to all those in their prisons. The Bodily Integrity Act would make it a crime to implant chips into anyone without written consent.More information can be found at her website www.spychips.com Get this information to your state lawmakers and ask them to sponsor this legislation.

Dr. Albrecht also recommends a boycott of Wal-Mart, because it funds the agenda of RFID.They are now threatening their suppliers with fines if they do not use RFID.There are three products at Wal-Mart that have RFID chips that should be avoided:Hewlett Packard scanners and printers, Sanyo televisions, and Lexmark printers.
