Commentaries About Marriage
Divorce isn’t the Answer (August 28, 2009)Some have believed a lie that if parents are unhappy, and it’s causing their children to be unhappy, then divorce is the thing to do.
Now, there is more evidence than ever that this isn’t right. Caitlan Flanagan, writing for TIME magazine, states that “on every single significant outcome related to short-term well-being and long-term success, children from intact, two-parent families outperform those from single-parent households.” She relates those numbers bear this out regardless of income level or skin color. Unless violence is involved, unhappy parents are much better for children than divorced ones.
And it isn’t just the children who suffer. Divorce has serious effects on health. One study says that those who divorce are 20 percent more likely to suffer from a chronic illness.
For the sake of your children and your health, divorce isn’t the answer!

Multiple Marriage Mess (June 22, 2009)
Triads. Polys. Clusters.
These are some of the most common names for those who practice polyamory. That is, they secretly have multiple marriage partners.
With same-sex “marriage” now legal in six states, this group wants to be next. And it could be growing. One organization has 15,000 on its mailing list, publishes a magazine, and holds conferences and retreats for the like-minded.
Glenn Stanton, the director of family formation studies for Focus on the Family, says that their rhetoric is “word-for-word what same-sex marriage advocates employ in their effort to redefine marriage.”
When we as a society open the door on marriage for same-sex couples, it may be extremely difficult to stop a multiple marriage mess from barging right through it!
